The problem

TSMC anchors a semiconductor corridor that already runs from the fab campus through its supplier base and into university research on both sides of the Pacific. What the corridor still lacks is somewhere for the people it moves to stay, eat, and spend a weekend.

White Tanks deck, slide 1: White Tanks · Overview. A district at the edge of the fab campus, built to O’odham design and on O’odham terms.

White Tanks deck, slide 2: The corridor. Arizona has the industry and it has the scholars. It does not have the third pillar.

White Tanks deck, slide 3: Why now. Three conditions are open at once, and none of them stay open long.

White Tanks deck, slide 4: Sovereignty. Sovereignty is not a feature of this project. It is the reason the project is possible.

White Tanks deck, slide 5: The district. Four components, each one a reason for the next to exist.

White Tanks deck, slide 6: Hospitality anchor. O’odham architecture and culture, at a Taiwanese standard and reach.

White Tanks deck, slide 7: Retail & night market. A first-mover department store, and a ladder for the Nation’s own operators.

White Tanks deck, slide 8: Spring training. A ballpark, on the one timing window that opens for it.

White Tanks deck, slide 9: Education hub. Language first. The campus follows.

White Tanks deck, slide 10: On O’odham terms. The Nation is the principal. The partnership is capital and reach, not control.

White Tanks deck, slide 11: Close. “The crossing belongs to both shores, or it is only a landing.”
